# Send transaction

> Send a signed transaction to the blockchain.

`POST /send_transaction`

Send the signed transaction body as raw bytes. See [Transactions](https://docs.zecolabs.com/concepts/transactions.md) for how to build `tx_body`.

```python theme={null}
import requests
r = requests.post(
    rpc_url + "/send_transaction",
    data=tx_body,
    headers={"Content-Type": "application/octet-stream"},
)
print(r.json())
```

## Response

On success, the response contains the transaction hash (`rx` + 64 hex characters):

```json theme={null}
{
  "hash": "rx0726f08285801c8bae31390693371de5170e105e680ae552306f58a1e6a35a0f"
}
```

On failure, the response contains an error message:

```json theme={null}
{
  "error": "error message"
}
```

You can also compute the hash yourself. See [Transaction hash](https://docs.zecolabs.com/concepts/transactions.md#transaction-hash).
